Bhutan,​ is neighbouring country of India and ​ a Buddhist​ country​ on the eastern edge​ of​​Himalayas​, is​ also famous​ for its monasteries, ​ancient ​fortresses (or dzongs) and​ breathtaking ​ landscapes that range from plains to steep mountains and valleys. ​This tour is most famous among traveller who are coming Bhutan by flight . Place covered in this package is Thimpu city tour which is capital city of Bhutan than Punakha which is ffamous for its Punakha Dzong tour. Last stop is Paro city tour and Paro Taktsang monastery (also​ called​ as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

Itinerary at Glance 

Day 01 Welcome to Bhutan and Transfer to Thimphu (2hrs)
Meet & greet our representative on arrival at Paro Airport and once the aircraft enters the Paro valley, look down from window and you will see the Paro Dzong on the hillside overlooking Paro Chu (river) with Ta Dzong. On the way to Bhutan halt at Chojum to take photographs of meeting point of two most important rivers of Bhutan, Thimphu Chu and Paro Chu. On arrival in Thimphu, Check into hotel and entire day is free to roam around Thimphu.
Tashi Chhoe Dzong or the Fortress of the Glorious Region is another ‘must visit’ site. Located on the west bank of Wang Chhu river, Trashi Chhoe Dzong is the coronation site of the fifth King. The Dzong also hosts the annual Tsechu festival. Built in 1641 by the religious and political unifier of Bhutan, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, it was reconstructed in 1960s in traditional Bhutanese manner, without nails or architectural plans.

Day 02 Thimphu city tour Sightseeing - 

Post delicious breakfast, start for local Thimphu sightseeing or places to visit in Thimphu The National Memorial Chorten or Thimpu Chorten is a site for evening prayer. The Chorten or stupa was built in the memories of the 3rd king , continuously circumambulated by people, murmuring mantras and spinning their prayer wheels. Construction of this landmark building was the idea of Bhutan’s 3rd king and his Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk (“the father of modern Bhutan”) who has wished to erect monument to world peace and prosperity. Its construction was completed in 1974 after his untimely death, it serves both as a memorial of the Late King and as a monument to peace.
Sakyamuni Buddha –Situated the top of Kuensel Phodrang hill sits the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha. The 51.5 mtrs long bronze statue is major attraction and the breathtaking  view of the valley would leave you spellbound. The site is also known as Buddha View Point.
Changangkha Lhakhang – In Thimphu you will visit many monasteries and temples. Changangkha Lhakhang is one of the most important religious structures in Thimphu. The structure of this building dates back to the 15th century and is one of the oldest building in the region. The structure is dedicated to Avalokiteshvara, the sign of compassion. You will also enjoy the ultimate view of Thimphu valley from here.

Takin Zoo – It is home to the National animal of Bhutan “Takin” in this open zoo. Takin is one of the most endangered species of the World and it is available only in Bhutan.
The National Library Thimpu tour has got a fabulous collection of Buddhist manuscripts which are priceless. It also houses the World’s largest published book which is about 130 pounds and 5X7 feet. Overnight in Thimphu

Day 03 Thimphu - Punakha local tour (2Hrs)
After breakfast, Check out & Drive to Punakha . On the way , visit Dochula view point stop:  Dochu La pass is around 3100 m high and way above the clouds. Only an hr drive from Thimphu, it offers tourist their first glimpse of the Eastern Himalayan range. From the pass the road curls its way down into the relative lowlands Valley of the Punakha. 

Chimi Lhakhang- is Locates at the top of a hillock in the heart of Punakha, the Chimi Lhakhang is a monument site dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley. Also known as the ‘Divine Madman’, Lama Drukpa Kuenley is said to made use of songs, humour and his outrageous behavior to preach his teachings. Chimi Lhathang in reality is a temple and is believed to be the temple of fertility. Bhutanese people belief that couples who don't have children get blessed by Lama Drukpa Kuenley if they visit the temple and pray for a child. To reach this place visitor have to go to rural trail through a paddy field takes visitors to the temple from the road. After crossing the paddy field there is a tiny stream from where Chimi Lhakhang is a just a short climb away.
Punakha Dzong:( also known as the “the palace of great happiness”),located at the junction of the Pho Chhu (father) and Mo Chhu (mother) rivers in the Punakha & Wangdue valley. the city’s dzong is one of the most attractive of all Bhutan’s ancient fortresses The Dzong is joined to the mainland by an arched wooden bridge, and contains many precious relics from the days when continuous kings reined the kingdom from this valley.
Suspension Bridge – Visit the hidden treasure of Punakha Valley, one of the longest suspension bridge over River Mo. Overnight stay in Punakha

Day 04 Punakha – Paro city tour ( 4hrs)
In the morning, Post breakfast , drive to most famous city of Bhutan Paro, en-route visit 
National Museum of Bhutan: Located right above Rinpung Dzong in Paro, the National Museum of Bhutan is a place that showcases Bhutan’s culture. Built in 1968, the museum stands inside the iconic Ta-dzong building.
Rinpung Dzong – made in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal , It is first temporal and spiritual ruler of Bhutan, the Dzong houses the main monastic body of Paro, It is also the office of the Dzongda (district administrative head) and Thrimpon or judge of Paro district. The way to the Dzong is through a traditional covered bridge called Nemi Zam. Nya Mey Zam Bridge – “The Bridge with No Fish ” it is the bridge that connects town of Paro  to Dzong.

Day 5 Paro Sightseeing - Taktsang Monastery - Tiger Nest Bhutan
Taktsang Monastery:It is a important Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and the temple complex is located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan. It was built in 1692 to reach to Sacred Tiger nest monastery one have to trek 1200 metres on a fierce cliff. View from this Temple is breathtaking and will be in your mind for long time. The Taktsang Monastery was built by Sain Guru Rinpoche who came to Bhutan in 747 CE from India he is credited for bringing buddhism to Bhutan. 

Kyichu Lhakhang – Kyichu Lhakhang, (also known as Kyerchu Temple or Lho Kyerchu) is prominent Himalayan Buddhist temple located in Lamgong Gewog of Paro District in Bhutan. The Jowo Temple of Kyichu is one of the ancient temples in Bhutan, originally built in the 7th century by the Tibetan Emperor Songsten Gampo
