​This is the 3rd most popular day trip from Delhi after the same day agra trip and jaipur day trip from Delhi. ​This day trip includes two of two most visited religious cities of India. Both Rishikesh and Haridwar hold very important places in Indian people. Haridwar is one of the four sacred places where Maha Kumb fair takes place which is regarded as the biggest religious gathering of the world. Haridwar is 200kms away from Delhi and is located in Uttarakhand state of India and travel time is 5-6hrs by road. Haridwar is an ancient city and most important Hindu pilgrimage site in India . It is located on the bank of Holy river Gange, where the River Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills.

Rishikesh which is 20kms away from Haridwar and it takes 30-40mins to reach Rishikesh from Haridwar. It is ​famously called​ as​ The​ Yoga capital of ​India​. Rishikesh means the ‘place of sages’ is a celebrated spiritual town on the bank of Holy River Ganga and is surrounded by Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. It is said that when Raibhya Rishi or priest did hard penances, God appeared by the name of” Hrishikesh” and this area hence firth came to be known as Rishikesh. Morning at 6am pick up from your pre-booked hotel or Airport and later proceed to Haridwar. On the way to Haridwar we can stop for breakfast (own Expense) in a nice restaurant. Post breakfast you proceed to Haridwar, you will be visiting the following popular attractions: Har Ki Pauri is a famous bathing ghat on the banks of the River Ganges. Har stands for God (Shiva) and Pouri stands for Footprint. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu visited this place in ancient times. Here one can see or witness the footprints of Lord Vishnu on a stone wall. Har ki Pauri is also a major location for holy baths during Kumbh Mela. Ganga Arti is performed at Har-ki-Pauri during morning/sunrise and evening/sunset. It is one of the major rituals in India. It starts during sunset and huge crowds gathered everyday here on both the banks of a canal which carries the waters of Ganges. This function is dedicated to River Ganga which is constantly providing life in the form of her water to human beings and animals. Mansa Devi Temple is one of the ancient holy places in Haridwar. The temple is located on top of the Bilwa Parvat on the Shivalik Hills. The temple stands for the holy abode of Mansa, who is said to have appeared from the mind of the sage, Kashyap, in the form of Shakthi. In the afternoon stop at a famous restaurant for lunch (at your own expense).

After lunch, we proceed towards Rishikesh. On arrival, we visited ashrams and Lakshman Jhula. Lakshman Jhula is a very famous attraction. It is a 450 fts long cantilever bridge on the river Ganges. Lakshman Jhula in Rishikesh which was once a jute rope bridge, was redeveloped by Rai Bahadur Sherprashad Tulshan and was opened to traffic in 1930. This bridge gives you a very mesmerising scenic view of Rishikesh spiritual city. View of the popular 13 story Trimbakeshwar temple also called Tera Manzil, which is located at the other end of the Lakshman Jhula. It is a treat to your eyes and gives you an immense feeling. Sacha Akhileswar Mahadev Temple and Lakshman Temple, Parmarth Ashram, Bharat Mata Temple, etc are also one of the major attractions around Lakshman Jhula. In the local market of Rishikesh you can buy valuable stones, religious items, hand paintings and idols of almost every deity in the Hindu pantheon. In the evening, around 6pm, we proceed with our return to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi (approx 10pm), we drop you off at your hotel.
